KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— Don’t forget you can see trucks as tall as giraffes, as fast as cheetahs, and as strong as elephants during Touch A Truck at Knoxville Zoo this Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Visitors can get up close to some impressively big machinery at this special event for truck lovers. Heavy equipment including a fire engine from the Knoxville Fire Department, Emergency Response vehicles from Knoxville Police Department, Rural Metro and The American Red Cross, Knoxville Recycling Coalition’s very popular Purple Paper Eater, a military vehicle from the Tennessee National Guard, and heavy equipment made to move mountains of dirt from Landmark International Trucks and Stowers Machinery will be on display throughout the zoo.
Personnel from the Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Rural Metro, Tennessee National Guard, Knoxville Recycling Coalition and The American Red Cross will also be on site for the event to answer questions and give visitors a close-up look at their trucks.
Update: The character appearance by everyone’s favorite builder named Bob has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Special thanks to the Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Tennessee National Guard, Rural Metro, The American Red Cross, Knoxville Recycling Coalition, Landmark International Trucks and Stowers Machinery.
