KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— Visit Knoxville Zoo during Penguin Discount Days for half-price!  The discount days are held annually beginning in December lasting through the end of February, but there are even more exciting opportunities during January and February.

Knoxville Zoo’s Education Department is pleased to offer Storytime each Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 a.m. throughout January and February.  Storytime is free with paid zoo admission and will add a little adventure to the long winter season.

Storytime is hosted in Knoxville Zoo’s Log Cabin where guests will enjoy a zoo story or two and a visit with a special animal friend.

“We want to provide an educational opportunity for children and their families during the time of year when finding exciting activities is hard to do,” said Kevin Hils, director of education at Knoxville Zoo.  “Families can enjoy a fun family day with Storytime and a half-price visit to see all of the zoo’s wonderful animals.”

Knoxville Zoo is located off exit 392A from Interstate 40 and is open every day except Christmas Day. The zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open every day from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Admission and ticket sales stop one hour before the zoo closes.
