Safari Grill Supervisor
Summary:
The Safari Grill Supervisor is required to set and enforce high standards and lead by example to ensure guest and co-worker satisfaction. To train new co-workers, assist them, and teach them proper procedures and instill a positive work attitude.

Elephant Keeper Position
Summary:
Knoxville Zoo is seeking a qualified person to fill an opening in the elephant department. Knoxville Zoo currently houses 1.2 African Elephants. The females are managed in free contact and the male is managed in protected contact. We need a dependable, trustworthy, and very team oriented individual who will be able to work in a fast paced, progressive program. Applicants with less than two years free contact elephant experience will not be considered. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a college degree in a related field is preferred but work experience can be substituted. This can either be Keeper 2 or 3 position; salary will be based on experience level.
General Labor
Summary:
- Under supervision, the individual will perform tasks as instructed, relating to the construction of Knoxville Zoo exhibits.
- Perform tasks as instructed. These tasks may include but are not limited to: welding, metal fabrication, carpentry, shot-crete application, concrete forming, carving, finishing, plumbing
- Variations of tasks may include the operation of machinery, vehicles, chemical use, lifting of up to and over 100 pounds, working on scaffolding at heights is required, working in weather extremes, and the safe operation of power tools.
- Under all circumstances, the ability to work safely and productively, as well as following zoo policies is required.
NOTE: Persons with exhibit/art design experience and basic welding is preferred. Needs and length of employment for this position will vary depending on the time of year.
