Art Gone Wild!
Friday, October 2
6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
at Knoxville Zoo

Art Gone Wild patrons can enjoy wine, beer, and hors d'oeuvres as they peruse inspired works available for purchase by some of the zoos artists in residence.   Many animals at Knoxville Zoo are trained to paint in the traditional sense, using brushes and/or fingers, including chimpanzees, gorillas, and elephants. Many more paint by walking over or stamping the canvas in a variety of colors. These paw painters include lions, tigers, meerkats, bears, Komodo dragons, penguins and much more! All artwork is matted, most include a photo of the artist, and all include a certificate of authenticity with the artist’s name. Cost for this event is $25  for members and $30 for non-members. This is an adult ages 18+ (need photo ID to enter) only event. Click here for complete details and to purchase tickets.

Knoxville Zoo has a new experience designed to inspire preschool and elementary - aged visitors to take an imagination fueled adventure! Located in the Pilot Flying J building, Wee Play Adventure involved extensive construction to create a jungle island that gives kids the chance to immerse themselves in an exotic expedition, just like real animal researchers in the field. Visitors of all ages can get an intimate view of the zoo's female Komodo dragon, Khaleesi, in a new 1,000 square foot indoor / outdoor habitat, and the zoo's juvenile male Komodo dragon, Drogo, in his new home where he has plenty of room to grow. Guests will also have the opportunity to see one of the best giant lizard habitats in the country.  Wee Play Adventure is the perfect place to encourage creative play and physical activity year round!
