Meet your favorite "Star Wars" characters without making a trip to a galaxy far, far away. On Saturday, March 21, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Knoxville Zoo will bring the big screen to life for Star Wars Character Day.
Famous "Star Wars" characters including Luke Skywalker, Stormtroopers and Sandtroopers will be meeting fans and posing for photos in the zoo's East Tennessee Plaza and roaming throughout the zoo. Visitors are encouraged to wear their own "Star Wars" attire to celebrate the occasion. The opportunity to meet "Star Wars" characters is included with general zoo admission and free for Knoxville Zoo members.
StoryTime at Knoxville Zoo
Each Wednesday and Friday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Location: Log Cabin
StoryTime sessions feature animal tales read aloud and an animal visitor to meet and touch.
Designed for toddlers and preschoolers, each StoryTime is approximately 30 minutes in length and included as part of general zoo admission.
BOGO Days at Knoxville Zoo

We’re not hibernating, why should you? It’s BOGO time at Knoxville Zoo!
Beginning December 1 through February 28, 2015, tickets to Knoxville Zoo are buy one, get one free! So, wake up and put on a warm jacket and a pair of mittens and come see why winter is a great time to visit the zoo! Many of the zoo's animals enjoy the crisp weather and are more active on cooler days. The zoo's new favorite indoor exhibit, Wee Play Adventure, is a cozy place to stop and play if you do decide to get a bit chilly. On days that the temperature drops below 40 degrees, some animals will be moved to their indoor enclosures, but even on the coldest of days, guests can see the elephants, gorillas, penguins, reptiles and chimpanzees in their indoor viewing areas. Buy one, get one free tickets must be purchased at the Ticket Booth and used by February 28, 2015 and cannot be combined with any other coupon or discount.

Knoxville Zoo has a new experience designed to inspire preschool and elementary-aged visitors to take an imagination-fueled adventure! Located n the Pilot Flying J building, Wee Play Adventure involved extensive construction to create a jungle island that gives kids the chance to immerse themselves in an exotic expedition, just like real animal researchers in the field.

Visitors of all ages can get an intimate view of the zoo's female Komodo dragon, Khaleesi, in a new 1,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor habitat and zoo's juvenile make Komodo dragon, Drogo, in his new home where he has plenty of room to grow. Guests will also have the opportunity to see one of the best giant lizard habitats in the country. Wee Play adventure is the perfect place to encourage creative play and physical activity year-round!
