Plan Your Day
Due to inclement weather, Knoxville Zoo will be closed Friday, February 12, 2016. Enjoy your snow day!
Wee Play Adventure
brought to you by Pilot Flying J
Knoxville Zoo has a new experience designed to inspire preschool and elementary-aged visitors to take an imagination-fueled adventure! Located n the Pilot Flying J building, Wee Play Adventure involved extensive construction to create a jungle island that gives kids the chance to immerse themselves in an exotic expedition, just like real animal researchers in the field.
Visitors of all ages can get an intimate view of the zoo's female Komodo dragon, Khaleesi, in a new 1,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor habitat and zoo's juvenile make Komodo dragon, Drogo, in his new home where he has plenty of room to grow. Guests will also have the opportunity to see one of the best giant lizard habitats in the country. Wee Play adventure is the perfect place to encourage creative play and physical activity year-round!
Clayton Safari Splash
Due to cooler temperatures, Safari Splash is closed for the season. See you in the spring!
At 5,000 square feet, it is the largest splash pad in Knoxville. It includes play areas that will appeal to everyone from toddlers to teenagers, and there's even an area for the entire family to enjoy a little water fun.
In a stroke of design genius, the play area features two life sized "giraffes" that spout water when kids work together to direct the flow. We've got to confess, we think that's pretty cool.
It also has water hoops and loops, team sprays and colorful larger than life water flowers.
And to really sweeten the pot, all of this fun is INCLUDED
with your zoo admission - OR if you're a zoo member, it's included with your zoo membership - so you can play all summer long!
So put on that swimsuit and head to the coolest place in town to see some animals and have a SPLASH
at Clayton Safari Splash
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Forest Theater Show
Sit down, relax, and experience beautiful birds (and some surprise guests too) from all around the world for free. You may even meet Einstein
, an African gray parrot with quite a vocabulary!
