"Endangered Species"
Sculpture Piece by Preston Farabow

Nationally renowned artist and sculptor Preston Farabow conceived and created “Endangered Species” exclusively for Zoofari 2015. This original work of art uses whimsy to shed light on a serious subject. The artist calls attention to the topic of endangered animals by placing this four-legged figment of his imagination in a precarious situation. Preston’s yellow-bellied, bucktoothed platypus with donkey ears, a prehensile tail and giraffe legs throws caution to the wind when she dons roller skates AND wings. Equally compelling are the source materials it was created from, including remnants of the Henley Street Bridge and a crashed NASCAR sprint cup car. Preston Farabow is the owner and operator of Aespyre Metal Design at Ironwood Studios. His numerous and prestigious commissions include works for NASCAR, Redbull, The State of Tennessee, Eastern Band of the Cherokee and the Tostitos® Bowl.
