The zoo is currently open:
Everyday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Knoxville Zoo is open 363 days of the year. Knoxville Zoo is closed is Christmas Eve, December 24 and Christmas Day, December 25. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes.
Next Day Free After 3:00
If you enter the zoo after 3:00 p.m., the next day's visit is free.
When the temperature falls below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, some animals, such as primates are brought inside. Although they are inside, there are visitor viewing areas to see many animals such as elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, penguins, and reptiles. Animals at Knoxville Zoo always have access to shelter where air conditioning and heat are provided during extreme weather. Click here for current weather conditions
Rainy Day Discount
If it rains at any time during your visit, you may request a pass for a free return visit valid through the end of the year. Passes will be issued the same day only and must be requested by the guest. Passes will be given in exchange for those persons who paid admission only. In order to receive a pass for a free return visit, the guest must present a ticket stub showing paid admission for that day.
